The tour includes the following service:

​Day 1-2:          Arrival in Skopje & transfer to Kriva Palanka

​      Day 1:     Welcome to Skopje      

•  Arrival and check-in hotel in Skopje depending on flight  arrival you will have following activities:

• Afternoon : Short sightseeing of the capital of Macedonia,  downtown and old Turkish market​

• Evening: optional dinner in a local tavern or in the old Turkish market 

         Day 2:      Osogovo Monastery - First day of enlightenment      

• Morning: After breakfast we depart to visit the monastery of St. Pantelejmon in Nerezi. The birthplace if the renaissance, this monastery hides stories and legends that will inspire you to reconnect with your faith.  After our talk with the monks we will enjoy the view of Skopje from the monastery. We will conclude our visit with a tour of the Ethno Village to see all traditional Macedonian architecture and local forgotten trades. 

• Afternoon: Depart for the east to spend a night at the monastery of Joakim Osogovski. We will arrive to this special place and accommodate. We will take a tour of the monastery grounds and learn about the history, traditions and legends of the St. Joakim Osogovski.  Spend some time with the monks and learn about their everyday life and activities. Time permitted, we will take a drive to the top of the Osogovo mountain to walk to the sheepfolds and watering station to be one with the nature. Short hike in the mountains will build up our appetites'. 

• Evening: As it is a monastery, food is prepared by the locals and it is a choice of four set menus. We eat in silence and discussing our day.

Day 3-4:           Kriva Palanka - Lesnovo Monastery - Berovo     

      Exploration of the tranquility of religion in the  East        

     

         Day 3:     Kriva Palanka - Kratovo - Probshtip ( Lesnovo Monastery) - Berovo       

• Morning departure for a sightseeing of the village of Kratovo. Visit the towers of Kratovo, hear about the legends surrounding the unique bridges. Spend time in Etno House Shancheva with its host Stevce explaining the history of the town. 

• Lunch: Depart for the monastery of Lesnovo. We will visit Lesnovo monastery, officially called Monastery of St Archangel Michael and St Hermit Gabriel of Lesnovo, is a medieval monument in North Macedonia. It is perhaps the best preserved endowment of a Serbian noble of the 14th century, with well-preserved frescoes and unique woodcarving iconostas. We will have time to have a picnic lunch prepared by our hosts in Kratovo.  

• Afternoon: depart for Berovo. On route if time permitted, we will stop in the village of Budinarci to walk through the village streets learning about the lifestyle of this small village. 

• Evening: dinner with local specialties in the Monastir hotel in Berovo. 

         Day 4:      Berovo - a visit to the nunnery at St. Archangel Michael Monastery 

• Morning: After breakfast we will visit the nunnery of the monastery of St. Archangel Michael.  Here we will learn about the traditional ways of making mosaics frescos and fresco drawing on old roof tiles which are unique to this location. we will spend some time learning about the everyday life of a nun and find out about their faith, belief and the answer tot he famous question. Why?

• Lunch & Afternoon: Hike around the Berovo Lake and enjoy the surrounding mountains.  A short cooking class at the river front of the hotel where we will learn how to make a local delicacy, a dessert called halva. Lunch with domestic pies, and different specialties.

• Evening:  Traditional dinner in hotel with our hostess explaining about the region and the lifestyle of Berovo. ​

Day 5-6:         Berovo - Strumica (Vodocha & Veljusa monasteries) - Prilep

     

               Experience the spiritual settings of two different regions, the valleys of the East with the mountains of Pelagonija

                   

             Day 5:    Berovo - Strumica ( Vodocha & Veljusa monasteries) - Prilep

• Morning: Depart after breakfast to villages Vodocha & Veljusa to visit their monasteries. The monastery church is dedicated to the feast of the Protection of the Most Holy Mother of God and to Saint Leontius of Strumica, Patriarch of Jerusalem. We will spend time there learning about icon drawing from the professionals painters.
