FAMILY  AGRO TOURS -  connect your youngsters to nature.  Our family Agro tours allow you and your family to reunite with Mother Earth. Experience the running of the chickens and the young chicks,  learn how to milk a goat, and harvest your breakfast. Let your children experience the riches of the farm and, in the process, bring life to a family whose children have been away for a long time.  Enjoy the tranquility and peace of the forgotten villages and educate yourself and your family about the old ways of living.  Please share your knowledge of sustainability and responsibility from your experience travel and teach the locals how to preserve, save and look out for their untouched natural recourses and lifestyle.

🌿 9-Day Eco-Agro Itinerary: “Taste & Nature of Macedonia”

   The tour includes the following services:

  • Private transfer with a driver / professional English speaking Eco tour leader for the full tour.

  • Accommodation in Double / Twin or Single rooms upon request and demand.

  • All meals ( breakfast, lunch & dinner ) home made cooked by host or self cooked.

  • Cooking classes, utensils, working farm gear needed for planting and enjoying your stay on the farm.

​​📍 Day 1-2:          Arrival in Skopje & transfer to Ormani

       Rural Life Immersion

      Day 1:     Welcome to Omorani

  •  Arrival and check-in at Rancho na Vancho i Kata, a charming farmstead nestled in the village of Omorani.

  • Welcome homemade lunch featuring organic vegetables, cheeses, and local bread.

  • Afternoon activity: Farm tour — meet the goats, chickens, and learn about the sustainable farming methods practiced by the hosts.

  • Evening: Campfire storytelling and tasting of homemade rakija and herbal teas.

         Day 2:      Life on the Farm

  • Morning: Join the hosts for morning chores — milking goats, collecting eggs, and gardening.

  • Cooking workshop: Learn to prepare traditional Macedonian dishes such as gjomleze and tavče gravče, with freshly picked ingredients.

  • Afternoon: Guided nature walk through nearby hills to forage for wild herbs and learn about local biodiversity.

  • Evening: Rustic dinner with folk music from the region. Optional stargazing opportunity.

📍 Day 3-4:           Villa Prespa – Resen / Prespa Region 

      

      Sustainable Living & Lake Culture

     

         Day 3:     Arrival at Villa Prespa

  • Transfer to Resen and check-in at eco-friendly Villa Prespa.

  • Lunch: Enjoy a meal made from seasonal produce from the villa’s permaculture gardens.

  • Afternoon: Guided orchard tour — learn about the famous Prespa apples and participate in fruit picking (seasonal).

  • Evening: Apple cider and juice tasting workshop with light snacks and local cheeses.

         Day 4:      Lakeside Eco Activities

  • Morning: Eco-kayaking or birdwatching at Lake Prespa (home to rare Dalmatian pelicans).

  • Cooking activity: Make traditional Prespa ajvar or fruit preserves with the guidance of local women’s cooperatives.

  • Evening: Farm-to-table dinner with stories about Prespa's heritage and environmental conservation efforts.

📍 Day 5-6:         Chateau Orman – Ohrid

     

               Wine, Wellness & UNESCO Nature

                   

             Day 5:     Arrival at Chateau Orman

  • Arrival and welcome drink — sample Chateau Orman’s boutique schnapps.

  • Lunch on the terrace overlooking the cherry tree planataions.

  • Afternoon: Local activities with digging in the local garden, watering and picking local vegetables for dinner. Stroll by the river and helping clear the plastic and garbage left by locals with the host and his father.

  • Evening: Schnapps tasting paired with local delicatessens and storytelling about Macedonian schnappse & wine culture.

Day 6:       Lake Ohrid & Culinary Delights

  • Morning excursion: Visit to Ohrid town (optional), or stay for a slow breakfast and yoga at the chateau.

  • Midday: Join a cooking session on preparing Ohrid trout (if in season) and lake fish specialties.

  • Afternoon: Eco-picnic by Lake Ohrid with homemade pies, salads, and juices.

  • Evening: Relax with herbal tea under the stars or enjoy live acoustic music.

📍 Day 7-8:         Mia Hotel – Mavrovo National Park

 

                  Mountains, Meadows & Traditional Life

                   

            Day 7:      Into the Wild Mavrovo

  • Scenic transfer to Mavrovo and check-in at the eco-conscious Mia Hotel.

  • Lunch: Mountain meal with local dairy, beans, and cornbread.

  • Afternoon: Nature hike or biking around the lake or to the old submerged church.

  • Evening: Film night on the hotel’s terrace showcasing Macedonian nature and culture.

                  Day 8:      Mountain Culture & Cooking

  • Morning: Join a local shepherd for a cheese-making workshop in the village of Galichnik or nearby hamlets.

  • Lunch: Picnic with mountain views and fresh dairy delicacies.

  • Afternoon: Traditional dance class or craft-making session with a local artisan (weaving, wool felting).

  • Farewell dinner: Celebrate the journey with a slow-cooked lamb dish and local wines.

 

📍 Day 9:             Mia Hotel Mavrovo - departure for Skopje

             Final farewell to Nature  

  • Optional sunrise yoga or nature walk around the Mavrovo lake.

  • Breakfast and heartfelt goodbyes.

  • Time permitted, we will stroll through Skopje for some sights and insights on the lifestyle in the Capital.

  • Departure transfer arranged to Skopje

  • Price may vary on season, availability or number of explorers joining the tour.

  • Accommodations are limited with beds so suitable replacements will be provided if needed.

Or how about soaking up the beauty of Lake Prespa during the picking season for the delicious Zlaten Delishes apples, believed to have been brought by Alexander the Great himself? If apples aren’t your thing, dive into the world of wine with a delightful experience along the Vardar River in the Tikvesh region, home to over 100 amazing private wineries! You choose your favorite delicacy, and’ll whip up an unforgettable feast just for you!

The Great Tobacco Agro-Adventure

​​📍 Day 1-3:          Arrival in Skopje & transfer to Prilep

                             Short sightseeing of Skopje and onwards to Prilep

       Introduction to the tobacco  

      Day 1:     Welcome to Prilep

  •  Arrival in the city of Prilep and welcome drinks and sweets for the hosts. Meet and greet the people who will educate you on the process of tobacco production, from seed to product. Meet the family over the taste of home made cooked lunch from the local specialties.

  • Accommodation in small hotel, homestay or private air B & B . 

  • Night  stroll down the old Turkish Market to join the vivid crowd sipping their final coffee and tea. 

         Day 2:      Prilep

  • Morning: Early morning wake up to join the hosts on their farm. On route pick up local bakery pastry for breakfast with the hosts.  Have your breakfast and local Macedonian coffee or tea with the hosts discussing the working day.  Set off and enjoy a days worth labor in the wonderful fields of tobacco. 

  • Lunch break: Possible short educational coarse of making homemade bread and enjoying local products with your lunch. Sip from the earth jars of the nectars of homemade juices. 

  • Afternoon: Guided tour to the monastery of Treskavec to visit this amazing place known for its position and location worthy of a Hollywood movie. Talk to the local priest who speaks several languages and, if you dare, walk to the rustic rocky walls that combine the best location for bouldering. Enjoy the tranquility of the monastery Treskavec. 

  • Evening: Rustic dinner in a local tavern with folk music from the region.

📍 Day 3-4:           Prilep region / Tobacco picking 

            From plant to product 

     

         Day 3:     Prilep 

  • Early morning departure to the farm.  Local homemade breakfast before we take off to the fields.  We will learn about harvesting, knitting and drying the tobacco and participate in few of these events. 

  • Lunch: Enjoy a meal made from seasonal vegetables, home made bread, farmer's cheese and fresh milk. 

  • Afternoon: Afternoon coffee and homemade cake before we take a guided  tour of the Prilep Tobacco museum.  We will return to the farm for knitting tobacco and helping around with chores. 

  • Evening: Join the hosts for home made dinner and barbeque with some home made schnapps and wine. 

         Day 4:      Prilep

  • Morning: Breakfast in the old Turkish market with local pastry and organic vegetables. 

  • The day activities: Today we will make a break from the plantation and get to know the region. We will tour the city to see the monument of Alexander the Great , learn about the first rifle fired during WWII and enjoy the local ambiance. We will visit the monastery of St. Archangel Michael and take a hike to the Towers of King Marko. We will picnic lunch there and hear about the stories and legends of this great King Marko and his brave and strong horse Sharko. Return to hotel.

  • Evening: Dinner in a local restaurant with local specially called SHIRDEN and special guests our wonderful hosts.

📍 Day 5-6:         Exploring the Pelagonija region

     

               Mountains, history, arts & crafts

                   

             Day 5:     Prilep - Krushevo

  • Morning departure for the town of Krushevo.  Meet and greet your host the Bear ( Shape). Take a tour of the town and learn about the wine barrel making, lokum (Turkish delight) and the history of the town.  

  • Local lunch with our host the Bear and in process learn about production of home made sausages. We will taste some of the local specialties. 

  • Afternoon: Accommodate in hotel Park & spa center and free time to enjoy the pool, spa or just relax on the terrace. 

  • Evening: A short hike to the ski center and have an barbeque dinner with our host Shape, outside at his mountain hut overlooking the stars. 

Day 6:       Krushevo - Bitola - Ohrid

  • Morning excursion: Visit to the city of Bitola, , sightseeing the city.  Enjoy the old town, the Shirok sokak, and the old Turkish bazaar. Depart to Ohrid.

  • Midday: On route we will stop at Rechica at the natural washing machines.  Stop for lunch at the fish farm  Paradise valley. 

  • Afternoon: Arrival at  Lake Ohrid and accommodate. A short sightseeing of the city. Visit the castle, church St. Kaneo and St. Sofia and the house of Robevi. 

  • Evening: Relax with free time to explore the city and have dinner by your choice.

📍 Day 7-8:         Exploring the Ohrid Lake district 

                  History, nature and lake views

                   

            Day 7:      Ohrid - St. Naum

  • Scenic transfer to St. Naum with stop at the Bay of Bones for pictures. Boat ride at the springs of Drim in the National park Galichica. Visit the monastery of St. Naum. 

  • Lunch: a traditional Ohrid trout on a bark sailing on the springs of the river Drim. .

  • Afternoon: Nature hike or biking around the lake or to the old submerged church.

  • Evening: Free evening to do a night cruise of Ohrid or shopping in the old town. 

                  Day 8:      Ohrid - Prilep

  • Morning: Depart from Ohrid and set off to the top of the National Park Galichica to return to Prilep. We will stop on the promenade for million dollar picture of lake Ohrid and, if we are up to a hike, continue to the top for a view of both lakes, Ohrid & Prespa. Descend to lake Prespa for a visit of the village Stenje for home made fish lunch.  After lunch a boat ride to the unique Golem Grad island and learn about the summer palace of Tzar Samoil and the history of the island. 

  • Farewell dinner: A night to remember with our hosts, good homemade food and music for dancing local folk dances.

📍 Day 9:            Prilep departure from Skopje

            Departure transfer arranged to Skopje airport

  • It is a seasonal tour, so departure dates are limited. Please ask in advance for availability and price. 

  • Price may vary due to departure dates, availability on the tour and number of explorers joining the tour.

  • Accommodations are limited with homestay accommodations, so suitable replacements will be provided if needed.
